Terms of Service (AGB)
Buukilino is a safe digital space for children and their friends. Registration and use by children under the age of 16 requires the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
1. Scope of Application & Provider
These General Terms and Conditions govern all contracts and the use of the mobile app Buukilino as well as the services provided at buukilino.app.

2. Description of Services & Age Requirements
(1) Buukilino enables children and families to maintain digital friendship books, fill out friend profiles, attach voice notes as sound stickers, and enjoy child-friendly learning and multiplayer games (e.g. Math Duels, Word Duels, Categories, Emoji Memory, Tic-Tac-Toe).
(2) Registration is free of charge. Individuals under 16 years of age may only use the app with the consent of their legal guardians. By registering, users or their guardians confirm that this consent has been granted.
3. Registration, Account & Security
(1) During registration, the user chooses a username, display name, and secure password.
(2) The user is obligated to keep credentials confidential and protect them against unauthorized third-party access.
(3) There is no legal entitlement to entering into a usage agreement or to the permanent availability of free features.
4. Code of Conduct & User Responsibilities
(1) Buukilino is a kind and violence-free platform for kids. Uploading or transmitting abusive, discriminatory, glorifying violence, pornographic, or otherwise unlawful content (text, drawings, photos, or audio) is strictly prohibited.
(2) In the event of violations, the provider reserves the right to immediately remove offending content and temporarily or permanently ban the affected account.
5. Buukilino Club (In-App Subscriptions)
(1) Users may optionally purchase premium features as part of the “Buukilino Club” membership (e.g. unlimited book pages, extended game modes).
(2) Contract conclusion and payment processing for in-app subscriptions take place exclusively through the respective app store (Apple App Store via In-App Purchase or Google Play Store) subject to their respective terms and conditions.
(3) Subscriptions renew automatically for the selected period (e.g. monthly or yearly) unless canceled via the user’s App Store account settings at least 24 hours prior to the expiration of the current billing cycle.
6. Physical Book Printing & PDF Export
(1) Users can export their digital friendship book as a print-ready PDF or order a printed hardcover book.
(2) Production and delivery of printed books are carried out via specialized print-on-demand facilities and shipping partners. Production times and pricing are displayed transparently before placing an order.
(3) Right of withdrawal for personalized goods: Because printed friendship books are manufactured strictly to customer specifications and personalized for individual needs (German Civil Code § 312g (2) No. 1 BGB / EU Consumer Rights Directive), statutory rights of withdrawal do not apply once production has commenced.
7. Copyright & User Content Licenses
(1) The child and author retain all rights and ownership to self-created drawings, texts, and voice recordings.
(2) The user grants the provider a limited license for the duration of the service agreement strictly to store, process, display to authorized friends, and reproduce uploaded content for the sole purpose of operating the app and compiling the book.
8. Warranty & Limitation of Liability
(1) The provider strives for high service availability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access at all times.
(2) For free services, liability is limited to intent and gross negligence. For paid services (Buukilino Club, physical book printing), statutory liability applies for damages arising from injury to life, body, health, or breach of essential contractual duties.
9. Termination & Account Deletion
(1) The free usage relationship may be terminated by the user at any time without notice by deleting the account in the app or via the web deletion form.
(2) Upon account deletion, all personal profile data is permanently wiped, subject only to statutory retention duties (e.g. accounting records for physical book purchases).
10. Final Provisions & Dispute Resolution
(1) The laws of the Federal Republic of Germany apply, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). For consumers, this choice of law only applies to the extent it does not deprive the consumer of mandatory protection granted by the laws of their country of habitual residence.
(2) The European Commission provides an online dispute resolution platform: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are not obligated or willing to participate in dispute settlement proceedings before consumer arbitration entities.
